Timothy Christian School’s mission is to assist the parents by providing a quality, biblically based, Christ centered, elementary education to Reformed, covenant children with the intent that they develop their talents and grow in love and service to God and their neighbour.
Timothy Christian School first opened its doors in 1973. Members of the Canadian Reformed Church in Hamilton opened the school with the intent of offering education to their own children that was distinctly Reformed and in harmony with the teachings of the Reformed Church. Important tenets of the Reformed Faith are as follows:
- We believe that the Holy Bible is the complete, inspired, and infallible Word of God.
- We believe that the teachings of the Holy Bible are accurately summarized in the Reformed confessions: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and we are saved by Grace alone, apart from works, through faith in Him.
- We believe that Jesus’ once for all sacrifice for sin was perfectly complete and sufficient.
- We believe that children born to believers, although conceived and born in sin, are part of the beautiful relationship we enjoy with God – His covenant. They are brought into that relationship by God himself and are then raised and taught to respond to the great gift of salvation that is freely given to them through Jesus Christ.
We ask all parents who are sending their children to Timothy Christian School to agree to the following additional statements:
- I will actively support Timothy Christian School, its Board of Directors (“BOD”), administration, teachers and staff through prayer and participation in school activities.
- I will support the school in its effort to provide Christ-centered education and am committed to upholding and maintaining the fundamental unity of the home and the school.
- I understand that enrollment is subject to the governing authorities of Timothy Christian School, which reserves the right to accept or reject any student.
- I promise to comply with the rules, regulations and policies of the Timothy Christian School as outlined in the Parent Handbook
- I agree with the annually approved fee structure and will dutifully pay tuition and other fees. Failure to do so may result in the termination of Membership and the removal of the children from Timothy Christian School.
